Background of Organic JAS Certification
With our brand concept, "Creating Health from Circularity," we strive to establish systems that minimize environmental impact. Our past initiatives include the effective utilization of non-standard bananas that do not meet distribution requirements due to size, minor blemishes, or other factors. During these efforts, we encountered the reality that organic farms tend to generate more non-standard products compared to farms that use conventional agricultural practices.
To source our green bananas, we carefully visited numerous farms, selecting those with proper soil management, growth monitoring, and hygiene controls. Most importantly, we chose organic farms where we could connect directly with the producers and where our mission to reduce food waste was met with shared enthusiasm. We have since begun directly sourcing raw materials from these farms.
Additionally, by revisiting and optimizing our manufacturing processes at our in-house facility in Japan, we created an environment where our dedicated team could collectively ensure the production of safer and higher-quality products for our customers. This effort led to our successful acquisition of Organic JAS certification.

Utilization of Unused Bananas
Banana plantations are concentrated along the equator, primarily in Asia and Latin America, forming the “Banana Belt.” However, consumer markets, including Japan, mainly demand large, visually flawless bananas. As a result, many bananas that do not meet size or aesthetic standards are excluded from distribution. Our initiative to utilize these non-standard bananas is not only environmentally friendly but also addresses a critical need for improving the incomes of local farm workers.
Collaborative Project with Banana Farm Producers
The producers we work with under contract not only take pride in the increased income and improved stability in their livelihoods through our joint project but also share the excitement of being part of a global health initiative. They are pleased that the bananas they cultivate are transformed into resistant starch, a natural gut health supplement, contributing to the well-being of people around the world.
Manufacturing Using Natural Spring Water from the Mount Fuji System
Our in-house facility, Fuji Factory, is located in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture. At this site, we carefully produce resistant starch derived from green bananas using natural spring water from the Mount Fuji water system.
Future Planning, Manufacturing, and Sales of Organic Products
In addition to our current main product—organic banana starch rich in resistant starch—we are also exploring the development of new products, such as organic banana flour for baking and organic potato starch. Our journey began five years ago with a fortuitous encounter between myself and Dr. Katsuaki Hayashibara, a researcher who had spent over a quarter of a century striving to develop a method for extracting resistant starch, from off-grade bananas that never reach the market.
To transform Dr. Hayashibara's groundbreaking research into a viable business, we needed to create a production line capable of producing highly concentrated resistant starch on a large scale. Although we faced many setbacks and challenges during the research and development process, we’re proud to have build the world’s first dedicated factory using proprietary technology.
We are equally meticulous about sourcing the bananas used as raw materials. I personally visit banana farms to verify cultivation methods, ensure no pesticides are used, and establish strong, trust-based relationships with farm owners. We only partner with farms that meet these standards. The off-grade bananas from these farms are then transported in specialized containers to our organic-certified factory at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Japan, where they are carefully processed using pure spring water from the mountain.
The resulting raw starch is a fine, tasteless, and odorless powder of the highest quality, renowned for its smooth texture and consistency. Its concentration of resistant starch is among the highest in the market, and it has received high praise from our customers.
